HELLO, Fall!

Crisp air, changing leaves & a changing real estate market
Fall in New England is one of my favorite times of year. The cooler mornings, beautiful foliage, apple picking, football weekends and getting back into a routine after summer—it’s a great season to slow down a little and enjoy home.
I wanted to check in, share a quick update on what I’m seeing in real estate, and of course include a little fall fun!
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN REAL ESTATE?
The market has definitely been changing. Buyers are seeing more choices than they have in recent years, and sellers are finding that pricing and presentation matter more than ever. Homes that are prepared well, marketed properly and priced for today’s market are still getting attention—but buyers are becoming more selective.
For sellers, this isn’t the time to simply put a sign in the yard and hope for the best.
Strategy matters. Experience matters. Negotiation matters.
After more than 17 years as a full-time REALTOR®, I’ve worked through just about every kind of market, and every transaction still brings something different! If you’re wondering what your home is worth today or have any real estate questions, I’m always happy to help.
FALL HOMEOWNER PUNCH LIST
A little fall maintenance now can help prevent expensive surprises this winter. Before the freezing temperatures arrive, take a walk around your home and check these off:
☐ Clean gutters & downspouts
☐ Have your heating system serviced
☐ Change furnace/HVAC filters
☐ Shut off & drain outdoor faucets
☐ Test smoke & carbon monoxide detectors
☐ Have the chimney/fireplace cleaned & inspected
☐ Clean the dryer vent
☐ Get ready for snow! — Check snowblower & stock up on ice melt
REALTOR® TIP
Fall is also a great time to walk around your home with a fresh set of eyes. Those little maintenance items you’ve been putting off can add up. Keeping up with them not only protects your home, it helps preserve its value when the day eventually comes to sell.
